Due to the increase in aviation traffic over the years, the number of runway incursions has been steadily increasing at both National and International airports. In order to address the ranging technologies available for implementation, Transport Canada awarded Giffels the contract to perform a study on the current and developing status of Runway Incursion technologies. The report covered technologies currently being tested and implemented in Canada, the United States and Europe.
