To service their rapidly growing number of retail outlets in Ontario, Quebec and Eastern Canada more efficiently, Future Shop Limited (a division of Best Buy) required the consolidation of several warehouse facilities into a single distribution centre, repairs/returns depot and regional head office.

Giffels developed a full turnkey solution by designing and constructing the facility on a site which allows for future expansion, to service Future Shop’s continuing growth in the consumer electronics market. Giffels was instrumental in securing the site and establishing a lease agreement with Hopewell Development Corporation.

As part of a total service package, Giffels was also responsible for designing, procuring and installing a full turnkey logistics fit-up to support Future Shop’s pick, pack, and distribution operation. This system includes pallet racking, flow racking, multi-level pick towers, a conveyor sortation system, and a state-of-the-art security system.
