Cinram International Inc., a leader in the manufacture and distribution of music and video discs, operates 62 facilities worldwide. In 2003 due to impending expiry of several existing facility leases, Cinram made a decision to consolidate operations of manufacturing, packagingand distribution into a new centre. Criteria set for choosing their new location, included close proximity to their existing Worldwide Head Office, with further provisions requiring expansion capability for up to 160,000 sq. ft., and tight completion schedule to suit lease expiry.

Giffels Design-Build were able to secure and offer Cinram and ideal location to fully satisfy their needs, by re-mediating a site a short distance away on the same road as their Head Office.

The 40’ clear facility is being constructed with an area of nearly 300,000 sq. ft. high racked storage, with narrow aisles laid to Fmin60, allowing use of wire guided lift vehicles.

At Cinram’s request, Giffels Design-Build are completing the building almost two months earlier than the contract schedule.
