Giffels environmental history dates back to the 1960’s with engineering services related to water and wastewater systems for municipal and industrial clients. Giffels has completed numerous water and wastewater projects for clients such as the cities of Toronto and Hamilton, and the Regional Municipalies of York, Peel and Halton. Giffels expanded its environmental capabilities in the late 1980’s by providing Class Environmental Assessment, Environmental Site Assessments and Remediation and Certificates of Approval for Air and Water. Giffels has completed a wide variety of environmental science and management projects for clients such as Public Works and Government Services Canada and Kellogg Canada Limited. With a convergence of environment and energy in the early- to mid-1990’s, Giffels completed a number of commercial and industrial energy and environmental savings audits. Clients for this work include DaimlerChrysler and University of Toronto. Beyond 2000, Giffels environmental services are truly diversified throughout the fields of environmental science, engineering and management yet are focussed on the concepts and principles of sustainable development, sustainable design and green energy. Our work begins at the concept stage and succeeds with minimum impact on the environment, combined with sound financial analysis and life-cycle costing.
