Cross-Dock Facility / Andlauer Transportation Services / Toronto ON 165,000 square feet
Andlauer Transportation Services (ATS) provides transportation and distribution services from air freight to LTL courier, to courier. Giffels designed and constructed the new cross-dock facility which has more than doubled the company's processing capacity. The building is completely automated with the most advanced quality bar code camera technology available. The 2.8 km long conveyor system has a built-in redundancy with two mirrored sorters. A backup generator was installed in the event of a power outage. This allows both the ambient temperature throughout the facility to stay controlled and allow ATS to continue shipments and fulfill client orders without any downtime. Racking is available for 1,200 pallet positions with the conveyor system suspended from the mezzanine level.
