Frozen Food Products Plant / Western Waffles Ltd. / Brantford ON 137,620 square feet
Western Waffles, the world’s largest manufacturer of private label frozen waffles and pancakes, supplies their product to a wide variety of clients in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Giffels initially assisted the company with site selection and then were later retained to design and construct the company's Ontario plant. The facility produces more than 2,000,000 frozen waffles and pancakes per day. The building program is comprised of 9,360 sf of offices and 128,260 sf of manufacturing, freezer and dry warehouse. The food processing area is distinguished by its design of extreme “cleanability” and sanitation. All all walls and ceilings are constructed of freezer panels and the entire area can be “hosed down”.
