Davis Centre for Healthy Communities / Sheridan College / Brampton ON 80,000 square feet
Giffels secured Sheridan’s Davis Centre project through a competitive design/construction bid process. The project houses the School of Liberal and Community Studies and includes 14 classrooms, 13 mock labs, a large lecture theatre, faculty offices and student support areas. The facility’s unique features include a sunlit greenwall system to provide fresh air, daylight sensors to ensure a comfortable learning environment and an innovative façade that balances aesthetics and energy efficiency. The facility is also designed to achieve a LEED® Silver rating. Davis Centre was constructed on a fast-track timeframe of 12 months, in order to be ready for the commencement of Sheridan’s Fall term. Gifflels also designed and constructed the Sheridan College Oakville 3 storey expansion.
