Preliminary and detail design for the replacement of the existing single-lane Appleby Line bridge over the Sixteen Mile Creek in the Town of Halton Hills, including road reconstruction of bridge approaches. The site is located within the Niagara Escarpment and the existing bridge is part of the Bruce Trail. The project included the management, scheduling and coordination of a natural sciences sub-consultant.

To avoid any disturbance of the existing creek channel, the chosen bridge replacement consisted of precast concrete arch sections placed on cast in place footings set back from the creek edge. The structure was completed with cast in place headwalls and parapets that were given a natural stone veneer so the bridge would harmonize with its rural surroundings. The project also included road profile improvements to the bridge approaches.
