In light of current and future growth projections, UPS/Gillette had commissioned Giffels Design-Build team for their efficiency in providing design, management and renovation services for the alteration of their existing tenant space.
An existing warehouse space encompassing 5,700 sq. ft. had been retrofitted and converted to a fully functional office area to include private offices, lunchroom, washrooms and meeting space. The alterations also entailed modifications to the existing electrical, mechanical, and fire protection systems to suit the tenants racking within adjacent warehouse floorspace. The existing loading dock area had been renovated to remove one and alter another truck dock to suit the new tenant requirements. With the addition of new office space came the requirement for changes to the exterior site landscaping and asphalt to facilitate 90 new car-parking spaces.
Design-Build services continued to be an imperative client necessity, of which Giffels had successfully maintained from the original facility construction through to general tenant alterations. Giffels had completed this project within a tight 7 week schedule despite many roadblocks, including client changes to scope and delays with municipal approvals. |
